SVG Production & Nesting

Automatic SVG Nesting

Automatically arrange SVG parts onto material sheets, optimise placement, check production safety and export laser-ready nested files.

About this tool

Load SVG artwork, choose your material and nesting settings, then let the tool arrange parts across one or more sheets. It preserves the original vector artwork while using solid collision masks for placement, and adds production checks, material costing and LightBurn-style laser-time estimation before export.

What this tool does

Import one or multiple SVG files for automatic nesting.
Import connected artwork as grouped production objects or split artwork into individual SVG objects.
Set a separate quantity for every imported object.
Restrict individual objects to any rotation, 0° / 180°, right angles or no rotation.
Use preset sheet sizes or enter completely custom material dimensions.
Switch the material sheet between horizontal and vertical orientation.
Control material margin, part gap, nesting grid and rotation step.
Allow mirrored placements when the artwork permits it.
Choose nesting strategies focused on compact placement, minimum sheets or faster processing.
Include clearance and kerf values directly in the spacing used by the nesting engine.
Apply grain-direction restrictions to allowed rotations.
Allow true hole nesting when suitable geometry contains usable internal holes.
Automatically create additional identical sheets when all parts do not fit on one sheet.
Optionally enlarge the material sheet when an oversized object cannot fit.
Automatically trim the final sheet dimensions around the used production area.
Improve an existing setup with a more compact nesting pass.
Select, drag, rotate, lock, duplicate and delete individual nested pieces.
Align unlocked pieces to the left or centre the complete layout on the current sheet.
Use Undo and Redo for manual layout changes.
Run production checks for overlapping placements and objects outside the material sheet.
Warn about open SVG paths and duplicate paths before production export.
Preserve SVG layers, vector geometry and original stroke colours in the exported nested files.
Track pieces, sheet count, material usage, waste, vector length, estimated laser time and total production price.
Estimate material cost from sheet area and your saved material price per square metre.
Estimate machine cost from calculated laser time and your machine price per minute.
Analyse pure red CUT, blue LINE / SCORE and black FILL operations on the final nested SVG pages.
Estimate cut, line, fill and rapid-move time using LightBurn-style speed and pass settings.
Calibrate the laser-time estimate against a known LightBurn result using the supplied calibration file.
Save reusable material profiles containing sheet, nesting, price and laser settings.
Create, update, reload, set a default and delete saved material profiles.
Save current material dimensions as reusable offcuts and load them again later.
Save the complete nesting job as a project JSON file and reload it later.
Export the current nested sheet as a production SVG.
Export a PNG preview of the current nested sheet.
Export all nested SVG pages together as a ZIP with a production report.

The nesting engine uses a solid collision mask for placement while preserving the original SVG vector artwork for final export.

Production export is blocked when the current layout is outdated or when overlap / out-of-sheet errors are detected.

Laser-time analysis recognises pure red strokes as CUT, pure blue strokes as LINE / SCORE and pure black fills as FILL.

Material, nesting and laser preferences can be stored locally in reusable material profiles.
